Easter Is Over: So What Now?

Read This:

Matthew 28: 18-20 “18 Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Think:

I don’t love everything about social media. I could do without all the selfies and my stomach could do without all the pictures of delicious food that people post on the regular. Also, I’m not a huge fan of seeing people’s feet. It’s my own issue, I know, but still.

But one thing I do love is seeing how everyone celebrated Christ’s resurrection. Whether it was through Easter clothes, Egg hunts, or family get-togethers, the common denominator I kept seeing was a hashtag saying “#HeIsRisen.

It’s so cool that a single day can unite so many people across so many locations and backgrounds. Cool may not be the right word, I guess. Because even though it is cool, it’s more a testament to Christ. That He could unite so many, inspire so many and provoke so much hope among so many diverse situations and settings.

But I don’t want it to stop. I don’t want to stop feeling this feeling of awe and I don’t want the feelings of everyone else to dissipate. It’s easy to celebrate when the calendar says to, but I’d really love it if I could manage the mindset year-round.

When Jesus died, it was a singular event in the history of mankind, but it wasn’t meant to be a singular event on our calendar. So be mindful and focused on the mindset and feelings you have right now in the wake of Easter and may it influence how you think of him and how you interact with others all year.

Comment:

What are some ways you’ve been able to keep an Easter mindset throughout the year instead of just on Easter?

Pray:

God, help me to never stop appreciating what you did on the Cross. To never stop embracing the freedom from sin that you gave us and to never stop communicating to others just how precious your gift to us is. I pray for your help in keeping me as focused on that after Easter I was before Easter.
