The Great Refiner

Read This:

"In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:6-7

Think:

When God chisels the dead weight out of our lives it can be quite painful. However, the process of discipline is part of our sanctification! The writer of Ephesians says “For we are God's workmanship” (Eph. 2:10). Elsewhere we’re described as a “poem.” God views us as being his original masterpiece. How beautiful is that?! This means that we are not accidents or afterthoughts—we are intentionally crafted by the Creator of the universe. Like a master artist shaping a masterpiece, God has designed each of us with purpose, beauty, and meaning. He has placed within us unique gifts, talents, and qualities that reflect His love and glory. Just as a sculptor carefully molds every detail of a statue, God is shaping us daily, refining us to become more like Christ.

Being God’s masterpiece also means that our worth is not determined by the world’s standards but by the One who made us. We are valuable not because of what we do, but because of who we are in Him. Even when we feel broken, unworthy, or unfinished, God is still at work, bringing His perfect plan to completion in our lives. When we embrace this truth, we can walk in confidence, knowing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by the hands of a perfect God.

Ask:

Are there any areas of my life that I refuse to let the Lord refine me in? What am I holding onto that I need to surrender to Him, so that I can look more like Him?

Pray:

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you never give up on us. Thank you for refining me in your great patience. Help me surrender every area of my life to you so that I may look more like your Son. Amen
