Think:

Amid the twinkling lights and cheerful celebrations, it’s easy to lose sight of the profound truth at the heart of Christmas: God sent His only Son into the world to save us. This wasn’t just a moment of joy; it was a moment of unimaginable sacrifice. The same God who spoke the universe into being chose to humble Himself, entering the world as a fragile baby in a lowly manger. For God the Father, this act of love was deeply costly. He sent Jesus, knowing the path ahead would lead to rejection, suffering, and ultimately the cross. Can we fully grasp the weight of such a gift? The very thought of giving up something so precious for others—especially those who might not fully understand or appreciate it—reflects a love so vast, it defies comprehension.

This Christmas, as we celebrate with gifts and gatherings, let’s take time to reflect on the magnitude of God’s sacrifice. The nativity scene isn’t just a sweet story; it’s a picture of God’s heart for humanity. He gave us His Son so that we could know Him, be forgiven, and live in relationship with Him forever. The pain of the cross began with the humility of the manger, and yet God gave willingly, all for love. Let this truth stir a deeper gratitude in us this season. As we marvel at the beauty of Christmas, may we also stand in awe of the lengths God went to bring us back to Him. This is the true gift of Christmas: God with us, and God for us.

Ask:

This Christmas, as you consider the sacrifice God made in sending His Son, how can you respond with gratitude and love for Him in your own life? What does it look like to live in awe of the gift of Jesus every day, not just during the holiday season?

Pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible gift of Your Son, Jesus. We can never fully comprehend the depth of Your love and the sacrifice it took to send Him to us. Help us to keep our hearts centered on the true meaning of Christmas—Your love for us and the hope we have in Christ. Fill us with gratitude and awe as we reflect on Your sacrifice, and guide us to live in a way that honors You. May this season draw us closer to You and remind us of Your unchanging faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
